Feeling anxious and overwhelmed isn’t part of the job.
There’s a lot on your shoulders, but when that weight feels crushing instead of inspiring, it’s time to get help. While we can’t take away the stresses of fatherhood, we can help you live without those gnawing feelings of anxiety, worry and overwhelm.
We specialize in therapy for dads with anxiety who want to stop worrying, sleep better and feel hopeful about the future.
Therapy for anxious and overwhelmed dads.
That racing heart, pit in your stomach, tightness in your shoulders and chest and nagging voice of doom are anxiety, not you. It can feel like they are everything, especially when it’s gone on for too long, but it doesn’t have to be this way. Whether these feelings came with becoming a dad or you’ve had them for as long as you remember, they aren’t forever with the right help.
If you’re snapping at your family, struggling to concentrate or up at night worrying, you’re doing the right thing. Seeking help is the first step towards becoming a dad without anxiety.
Therapy is a space to slow down enough to look at the thoughts, feelings and situations that are causing your anxiety without getting overwhelmed. We’ll help you work through the overwhelming, anxious feelings and manage them so they aren’t nagging you anymore.
You don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re new to this or treatment hasn’t worked in the past, we’re here to support you.
We have offices in Brooklyn and Nassau County, and work remotely with fathers all over New York State.
FAQs
What comes next?
After a consultation call where we can get a feel for each other and what working together might be like, we’ll start meeting weekly for 50-60 minutes. Most people stick to weekly meetings, but some choose to meet multiple times per week or every other week.
How long will we meet?
It’s different for each person based on the severity of their issues. Some dads have sessions for a few months until things feel resolved and some stick around because they value having time and space dedicated to reflection and growth.
What about fees and insurance?
We have a fee range of $200-250 per session and ask clients to select a fee that works for them. We’re not in-network with any insurance companies, but most of people get reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. It varies based on plans, but we can help you navigate it.
